Overcoming Employment Barriers by Becoming a Trauma-Informed Employer
For most of the USA, the unemployment rate is hovering between 2.5% to 4%. However, for people struggling with such difficulties as addiction recovery, domestic violence, and homelessness, the unemployment rates soar to 10-15% or more. For employers, this means that there is a great untapped resource for talent – if some reasonable accommodations can be made to create a trauma-informed workplace.
Rustin Tonn, Regional Manager at Newgistics, Inc. and Dan Weinstein, Vice President at Aon and Founder of Colorado Leadership Cares share ideas on how to make a more inclusive workplace, as well as offering ideas on how people can overcome these barriers to employment.
