Career Coach vs. Career Counselor
By contrast, a career counselor is a licensed therapist. While the counselor may provide help with a job search strategy, he or she will also deal with the emotions and feelings around job loss. They also address personal psychological blocks to professional success.

Another variation of the career counselor works in the higher education industry, helping students determine their career path. The counselor then helps the student realize which classes would be best to help them reach their goals.
